As the calendar year draws to a
close, I take time to reflect on the successes of the school and the community
as well as the challenges we must overcome.
I hope that parents/guardians and students are well aware of the
consistent improvement Memorial Middle School has made over the last several
years. At the start of the school year,
the middle school received its PARCC test scores showing a another year of
consistent improvement. Most recently we
received the results of the PSAT’s that are administered at the end of October
to grade 8 students. These results were
truly outstanding. The Middle School
exceeded the state average by 34 points and the national average by 46
points.

PSAT score reports were mailed home
to grade 8 parents last week and will be reviewed with students in school next
week. Congratulation to our students,
their parents/guardians, and our faculty!
Finally, a few reminders:
- Join the middle school’s students and staff at our Winter Chorus Concert on Tuesday, December 20th at 7:00 pm.
- Friday, December 23rd is the last day of school in 2016. This is a full day of school. Our first day back in the new year will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
- Memorial Middle School collects BOX TOPS. Students should drop off Box Tops to the main office or to Mr. Sullivan. Students that submit Boxtops will be entered into a drawing to win fabulous prizes. Money raised from Boxtops is used to support our Engineering/Technology program.
- Additionally, most school announcements will be made through blogspot, facebook, and twitter.
