HULL PIRATES YOUTH BASKETBALL!

HULL PIRATES YOUTH BASKETBALL
IN TOWN 2014-2015 SEASON

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN
NEW FOR THIS SEASON:
PAY AFTER THE NEW YEAR 

The registration period will run up until our evaluation day on December 13th, please note that your child must be registered in order to participate.

The in-town program is a fun recreational league for grades 1st-8th which allows children of all abilities to develop basketball skills and compete in a friendly atmosphere. The season will run from the beginning of January through the middle of March with games played on Saturday and practices held on Sunday. The price for 3rd-8th grade is $90 for one child, $170 for two children in the immediate family, and $215 for three children in the immediate family. Our 1st-2nd grade program is $55 per child. Picture Retakes are November 21st!!



Students that missed the first picture day can have their pictures taken this Friday, November 21st.  Also, if students did not like their first picture, they can have their picture retaken.  To have your picture retaken, students must bring their original pictures to school on Friday.  Forms to order pictures are available in the main office. 

Teen Night with the YMCA

The YMCA will sponsor the second teen night of the year this Friday, November 21st from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Memorial Middle School.  The cost of the event is $10.  Please see the flier below for more information.

Report Cards/Conferences/Babysitting!!

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I am pleased to announce that report cards for the first quarter are now posted to Aspen, our student information database.  Parents do not need to sign and return a copy of the report card.  All parents and students should have a username and password.  Please navigate to the following website to access Aspen:  https://ma-hull.myfollett.com

If you do not have your login information or if you have any problems accessing your child’s information, please contact the front office for assistance at 781-925-2040.

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and on Wednesday, November 19th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.  To schedule a conference, please call Ms. Casey in the main office at 781-925-2040.   All parents and guardians are invited and encouraged to attend conferences.  In Grade 6, parents will meet with the entire team.  In Grades 7 and 8, parent may meet with a maximum of two teachers.  If any parent would like to meet with more than two teachers, please call back on the day of the conference to see if additional appointments are available.
 
Memorial Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society will sponsor free babysitting during your child’s conference on Wednesday only.  Please contact Mrs. Striglio if you would like to access these services.    (sstriglio@town.hull.ma.us or 781-925-2040 ext. 1106)

Monday, November 17th will be a 60 minute early release day to accommodate conferences.  Students will be dismissed at 1:45 p.m.  Lunch will be served.

Child Care at Parent Teacher Conferences!!

The National Junior Honor Society will offer free babysitting for the upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences at Memorial Middle School on Wednesday, November 19th in the gym.  Conferences are from 5:30-8:30 p.m.  Please contact Mrs. Striglio if you would like babysitting services during your student's conference time. sstriglio@town.hull.ma.us or 781-925-2040 ext. 1106

Grade 8 Science Teacher Announcement!!

I am pleased to announce that Mr. John Whittle has assumed responsibility for the Grade 8 Physical Science classes.  Mr. Whittle recently completed a long-term substitute position at Norwell Middle School and comes to us highly recommended by the Norwell administration.  He is certified in middle school math and science.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Trinity College and his Master of Education from Lesley University.  Mr. Whittle has also worked for the last several years as an RTI instructional tutor in Norwell.  Welcome Mr. Whittle!!

I also wish to thank Ms. Heather Weber for her outstanding work leading the classroom as we conducted the search for this position. She effectively worked with students to teach the Physical Science curriculumMs. Weber and Mr. Whittle will both attend Parent-Teacher Conferences next week.

Brandeis University Annual Splash!!



Brandeis University is holding its third annual Splash on November 15th from 12pm-5pm.
Splash is a fun one-day long learning program organized for students from 6th-12th grade. This year we will be offering over 30 different courses. The classes range from the traditional math, science, and humanities course to more unconventional courses like "American Sign Language for Beginners" and "Revolutionizing Bollywood: An Introduction to Fusion Dance!"
