Enrichment and Intervention... What is it??

Enrichment and Intervention is a new school day program that gives our students the opportunity to receive additional assistance during the school day.  The program also allows our students to participate in a variety of enrichment activities.  Students can choose to spend time with a teacher to receive extra help or, teachers can choose students to visit them to focus on particular skills, help with basic skills, or introduce advanced topics not normally covered during the school day.  Additionally, teachers offer additional academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular experiences. Take a look at the pictures below to see a few of the opportunities available to students.  In addition to the pictures below, teachers are currently offering a sewing class called Ugly Dolls that introduces students to basic sewing; writing classes have been offered in comedy and horror; a basic equestrian theory class to introduce students to a new sport or to develop the skills of experienced riders; and a variety of gym activities are offered to keep students active.

Mr. St. George teaches Bucket Drumming.
Students can take an extra art class during the day.
This is a great opportunity for Grade 7 students that do not have art as part of their regular schedule.
Students work with Mr. Sullivan to build the base of a trebuchet.
Students launched pumpkins during our Rally and Turkey Trot.
It was a real blast!
Mr. Whittle helps students improve their chess skills.

Students can take piano lessons with Mr. St. George on a piano, synthesizer, or their iPad

Some of our older students work with our younger students on organizational skills under the supervision of Ms. MacDonald.
