Reminder - the Read-A-Thon has started!!

The annual PTO Read-A-Thon has started!!

All students should participate!!  While we hope that all students will collect money for the PTO, you do not have to collect money to participate. 

This weekend: Get sponsors to sign up.  Some sponsors will pledge $1 per book or a nickel per minute.  Any money raised is greatly appreciated.  Money raised will go to support field trips and school activities. 

Start Reading!!  Students should keep track of all of their time reading.  Start recording your time on Monday, February 2nd.  The Read-A-Thon ends Sunday, February 8th.    For more information, see the link below:

NJHS Induction - Third Time's A Charm!!!

Third Time's a Charm!!!  The National Junior Honor Society's induction ceremony has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 11th at 7:00 pm in the middle school auditorium!!  

We hope to see you there!! 

February 9th - Memorial Middle School Early Release at 11:20 am. Lunch will be served!!

Monday, February 9th will be an early release day for Memorial Middle School only.  Middle school students will be dismissed at 11:20 am.  Lunch will be served.  

This early release day was not on the original school calendar.  We have added it to provide our staff with additional training should an emergency situation occur.  For more information, please see the link below for a letter that was sent home to families last week.

Hull Youth Lacrosse!!


Hull Youth Lacrosse's 2015 Spring Season Registrations are now open!!

Fee for the 2015 Spring Season is $115.00/player, which shall include each player receiving a pini and shorts that the players keep at the end of the season.
U11 Team = 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th grade
U13 Team = 5th & 6th grade
U15 Team = 7th & 8th grade
The Spring Lacrosse Season shall begin in the middle of March and run through the middle of June.
Practices are 2 nights a week with games on Sundays.

It is mandatory that all players when registering on-line through Hull Youth Lacrosse's on-line registration system follow the US Lacrosse League registration process as well.

Please make sure that the player you are registering either becomes a member (if the player has never registered with US Lacrosse before) or the player renews their membership go to
www.uslacrosseleague.org.  This is a fee of $25.00/year which is to be paid directly to US Lacrosse League.
No player will be allowed on the field without a current US Lacrosse League membership prior to the first game.

If you are mailing your payment to HYLAX and are not registering on-line, you will still need to register or re-new your player(s) US Lacrosse League membership. You can go directly to
www.uslacrosseleague.org.

Annual PTO sponsored Read-A-Thon!!

The annual PTO sponsored Read-A-Thon begins now with students finding sponsors that are willing to donate money based on how much they read.  Sponsors can pledge a fixed amount or they can donate an amount based on how much a student reads, a nickel a minute, $2 a book, or any amount that the sponsor feels is appropriate.  Students should collect pledges between now and Sunday, February 1st.  All money raised is donated to the PTO to fund field trips, school activities, and other events!!!

The Read-A-Thon takes place between Monday, February 2nd and Sunday, February 8th.  All students should complete a reading log even if they don't raise money.  All students that participate by reading can win prizes!!

                                     Enrichment and Recreation
Dear Parents and Children,
I’m pleased to present the second session of the Memorial Middle School MASPER program! Thanks to a number of teachers and parents, we have wonderful MASPER after-school programs planned for six weeks beginning Monday, Jan. 12th.  Please read the descriptions (on the back of this form) of the enrichment activities we have planned for your child.  Choose the activity that is best suited for your child/children.
Classes are on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday . Classes are one hour: from 2:45-3:45 p.m.  The rate is $30 for one class, $50 for two classes, and $75 for three classes.  Classes fill quickly so please get your registration form and MASPER fee in as soon as possible.  Any class with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled.  On half-days, or no school, there will be make-up classes TBA.
PICK-UP MANDATORY BY 3:45!! There will be a late bus on Monday and Thursday. Also, your child can walk home with your permission noted on the form below.  Pick up will be at the Cafeteria Entrance.
Remember that placement will be first-come, first-served, so send those registration forms in with payment!!  Please return form ASAP!!  Call Monique Roche at 781-925-1739 with any questions.

Park and Rec Adventure!!



Hull Park and Recreation is heading out on another adventure!  On Saturday, January 17th from 11 am to 3:00 pm, Park and Rec will be going to Monster Golf in Norwood, MA! The cost of the trip is $20 and includes the transportation, 18 holes of mini golf, and arcade tokens. Please email Catherinewalper@gmail.com to reserve your spot now. This trip is for anyone 8+, anyone under 8 is welcomed to come but must have a chaperone. Please pack snacks/lunch for your child.  The bus will pick up and drop off at Memorial Middle School. Grade 8 Information - Class Dues and Dance Committee Meeting

The third payment of Grade 8 class dues should be turned in this Thursday, January 8th during first period.  The amount due is $30.  Checks can be made payable to Memorial Middle School.  Class dues fund the end of year activities.  A letter was sent home in October with more information.  

Also, the Grade 8 dance committee will meet this Thursday, January 8th at 7:00 pm in the middle school auditorium.  All parents are invited and encouraged to attend!

National Junior Honor Society Induction!!

Memorial Middle School will host its induction ceremony for the National Junior Honor Society next Wednesday, January 14th at 7:00 pm in the middle school auditorium.  We are pleased to announce that the following students have met or exceeded the qualifications for the NJHS and have been selected by the faculty senate for induction.  Congratulations to our students and their families!
