Grade 8 End of Year Dance Committee Meeting

The first organizational meeting for the Grade 8 end of year dance will be on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00 pm in the middle school Auditorium.  All Grade 8 parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  Please come with ideas to help plan the "theme" of the dance.  Some recent themes from past years include:  "Come Sail Away," "Your Future is Bright," "Fire and Ice," and "Hullywood."  Remember, the theme should remain a secret! 

If you cannot make this meeting, but would like to be involved in the planning of the dance, please send the Principal an email at ahrivnak@town.hull.ma.us and your name will be added to the committee list. I look forward to seeing you on the 14th.

ForsythKids Oral Health Program

Forsyth Dental program will be coming on Wednesday, September 30th to do dental evaluations and cleanings for those students signed up.  There is still room for anyone who wants to sign up for the program.

Please return the permission slip by Tuesday, September 29th.

Library Volunteer Organizational Meeting

Memorial Middle School is working to open its library on a limited basis with a staff of volunteers. We will have an organizational Meeting on Thursday, October 1st at 9:00 am at the Middle School Library.  If you are interested in helping out, please email the Principal, Tony Hrivnak at ahrivnak@town.hull.ma.us .

School Council Meeting!!!

There will be a School Council meeting on Wednesday, September 30th at Memorial Middle School. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be held in Room 227. 

No Dance on Friday, September 25th!!!

There will be NO dance on Friday, September 25th at Memorial Middle School. We will be announcing the new date shortly.

Our Town!!!!

 The new theatre arts director, Mr. Sullivan will be at the Open House on Wednesday night.  Please come by the table and say hello and learn about some of the new things going on with Hull High School Theatre Arts.  Students also interested in tech crew should stop by the table and get more information.
 Students in grades 7 & 8 are welcome and strongly encouraged to audition for Hull High Theatre Arts fall production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town.  Auditions will be held on Friday, September 25th at the High School auditorium from 5-8:30pm. 

 A pre-audition workshop will be held earlier that week on Monday, September 21st, also from 5-8:30pm.  Here you will have a chance to preview scenes for auditions, learn about the audition process, and play some theatre games with the high school students who are looking forward to meeting you.

School Council

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Every year in my back to school letter, I publicize the School Council. The School Council is a group of parents and teachers that meet on a regular basis to review the day-to-day operations of the school.  Additionally, we review the student handbook, the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP), and the School Improvement Plan.  We brainstorm ways to raise funds for student activities.  The group will also receive updates on the budget process and will have the opportunity to advise the Principal on the operations of the school.  Meetings are always held at Memorial Middle School in room 227.  The dates and times for the meetings are:

Sept. 30  @ 6:30 pm Oct. 28 @ 4:00 pm Dec. 2 @ 6:30 pm

Jan. 13 @ 4:00 pm March 3 @ 6:30 pm April 27 @ 4:00 pm

June 1 @ 6:30 pm

If you would like to be a member of the School Council, please reply to this email by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 16th or call me at 781-925-2040 ext 1102.  Should I have more the 4 parents/guardians interested, we will hold an election at our open house tomorrow.  This is a great way to stay informed about your child's school and to get to know some other parents, teachers, and the principal.

Open House is on Wednesday, September 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm!!!

Open House will be held on Wednesday, September 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  The evening will begin in the auditorium.  At 7:00 pm, parents will relocate to their child's grade level to meet their team and to learn specifics about the upcoming year. 

******Grade 6 Parents: This is a change from the Jacobs School Parent Open House. You will start in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. then proceed to meet with the Grade 6 Team of teachers at 7:00 p.m.**********

The late bus will begin on Monday, September 14th.  The bus will depart from MMS at 3:45 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Picture Day is Wednesday, September 9th!!
