Holiday Music Concerts!!

The Winter Band Concert is on Thursday, December 14th at 7 pm and will feature our Jazz Band, 6th Grade Band, and Concert Band.  Jazz Band will be playing 'Groovin' Hard', which is a hard swinging shuffle made very popular by legendary drummer Buddy Rich.  6th Grade Band, who have only been playing their instruments for 3 months, will be playing numerous short selections ranging from 'Hot Cross Buns' and 'London Bridge' to holiday favorites like 'Up On a Housetop' and 'Jingle Bells'.  The Concert Band will be performing a selection titled 'Windsor Overture' as well as a lively medley of traditional Hanukkah music in the piece 'A Celebration of Hanukkah.'

The Winter Chorus Concert is on Tuesday, December 19th at 7 pm and will feature our 6th Grade Chorus and Concert Choir.  Our 6th graders will be singing 'Snowflake Carol' which is a lovely variation on 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' as well as an upbeat, waltz-like composition titled 'Colors of Winter'.  The Concert Choir will open their portion of the concert with 'Winter Pathetique', a beautiful setting of text to one of Beethoven's most popular piano sonatas.  'All I Want for Christmas Is You' will be their second and final selection, featuring a talented soloist at the very beginning.  The concert will conclude with an annual tradition of a 'Winter Wonderland' sing-along with both choirs and the audience.

Both concerts are free admission and open to the public!

Please join us and bring family, friends, and neighbors!
