and a tremendous amount of Pirate Pride to grade 6 scholar Kenza Wahman for her visit to the
Massachusetts State House! Kenza joined educators, parents, students, and
legislators who testified on Beacon Hill on Sept. 12 in favor of a bill that
would make significant changes in state education policy. "We look forward
to recess like adults look forward to a coffee break,” Kenza said. This bill mandates
recess for grades K-5, encourages more learning time in history and civics, and
promotes community collaboration for underperforming schools. Kudos to Kenza
for speaking up on behalf of her peers!
