Student Council Election Results!!

Today, Memorial Middle School held its elections for student council!  All students that ran for positions on student council are to be congratulated for their willingness to stand in front of their peers and ask for their vote.  Public speaking is extraordinarily difficult and is a testament to their character.   This is an election and not everyone can win.  However, all students that completed an application for a position but did not get elected are invited to be members-at-large and to participate in all of our activities and meetings!

Our first meeting of the year is after school on Monday, September 25, 2017 in the Grade 8 Large Group Room.

Here are the results:

Grade 8 Class President:  Gianna Quatromoni

Grade 8 Class Vice-President:  Ava Brown

Grade 8 Secretary:  Elizabeth Luggelle

Grade 8 Historian: Stella Gianadda

The Grade 8 Class Representative is: Erica McGowan

The Grade 7 Class Representatives are:
Patrick Dwyer
Madison Grier
Matthew Sullivan

The Grade 6 Class Representatives are:
Holly Haeck
Ruby Schultz
Kenza Wahman
Sean Walsh

6th Grade Speaker on Beacon Hill

Congratulations and a tremendous amount of Pirate Pride to grade 6 scholar Kenza Wahman for her visit to the Massachusetts State House! Kenza joined educators, parents, students, and legislators who testified on Beacon Hill on Sept. 12 in favor of a bill that would make significant changes in state education policy. "We look forward to recess like adults look forward to a coffee break,” Kenza said. This bill mandates recess for grades K-5, encourages more learning time in history and civics, and promotes community collaboration for underperforming schools. Kudos to Kenza for speaking up on behalf of her peers!
