Grade 7 Announcement!!

Hello everyone!

The 7th Grade Team is super excited to celebrate the end of a very successful year with your students! It has been an absolute joy teaching such bright and inquisitive young minds!

On Friday, June 9, Claire Gold, a professor of anthropology and the founder of “The Human Origins Workshop,” will be visiting Memorial Middle School to speak with students about early man. This is an active investigation that ties into our Social Studies Curriculum, a study of ancient civilizations. This event is paid for out of funds raised by Memorial Middle School as well as the generosity of the PTO.

On Thursday and Friday, June 15 and 16, students will participate in Bay Day. Classes will walk to the bay behind the school to use both math and science to study our local ecosystems!

On Monday, June 19, the 7th Graders will participate in Field Day. During this last half day of school, homerooms will compete in various footraces and camp games. Each homeroom will be represented by a different color; if your child would like to purchase a t-shirt of that color, please fill out the order  sent home with your child. Last year at the end of the day, many of the students signed each other's T-Shirts as a kind of "walking yearbook," and we would like to carry on this fun tradition. If you wanted to order more than one T-Shirt (so that the student had a "clean"/unsigned shirt and a signed shirt), please indicate so on the form. If you wanted to order additional shirts for yourself or family members, we can do that too!

We are looking for parent help and donations for a “snack fund” to provide the students with drinks and popsicles on field day. If interested in helping out, please contact any member of the 7th grade team!

If your child forgot to bring the forms home, the document is here:
