This past Saturday, February 4th, the Southeastern
Massachusetts Schools Bandmasters Association held auditions for their Festival
Concert Band. Memorial’s very own 8th
grader, Maeve Donohue, auditioned and was not only accepted into the ensemble,
but among the 42 trumpet players auditioning in Southeastern Massachusetts
Maeve was ranked number one!
In addition to this recent accomplishment, Maeve also
auditioned for a seat with the Festival Concert Band organized by the Southeastern
District of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association in early December. She, too, was accepted with outstanding
marks. The audition process for both of
these music associations is quite challenging and Maeve’s success is a
testament to her hard work and dedication.
Maeve’s performance with the SEMMEA Concert Band (Jr.) will
take place on Saturday, March 4th at Nauset Middle School in
Orleans, MA.
Maeve’s performance with the SEMSBA Concert Band (Jr.) will
take place on Saturday, May 6th at East Middle School in Braintree,
MA.
