2017 Hull PTO Award
Criteria
The Hull PTO Award is awarded annually
to a son or daughter of an active PTO member in good standing. An active member in good standing is one who
has paid their annual dues prior to December 31, 2016.
The
$1,000 Hull PTO Award is given to a high school senior who plans on furthering
their education by attending a 2 year associate program, a 4 year bachelor’s
degree program or an accredited vocational school.
Application
Criteria:
1. Child
of a PTO member in Good Standing (Dues paid by December 31, 2016).
2. Family/Student
Service Contribution to the PTO.
3. Membership
or Participation in Athletic/Extracurricular/Employment Activities, especially
noting your leadership roles. (i.e.: Varsity and JV Sports, Hull Theatre Arts,
after school clubs, National Honor society, Community Service.)
4. A
typed essay on “What Makes You a Good Overall Candidate for the PTO Award?”**
Please include your plans for furthering your education in the essay.
5. 2.4
or Higher weighted GPA (Documented by an OFFICIAL HHS Transcript)
The
candidate(s) will complete an application and submit it to the Hull PTO. The application will be available to all
eligible candidates in the Spring of 2017.
The Hull
PTO retired Teachers Award Subcommittee will review and rank all the applications
anonymously and will provide applicants STUDENT ID to the PTO Scholarship
Chairperson. In the case of a tie, the
winning candidate will be selected by a majority vote of the Hull PTO Board of
Directors.
The Hull
PTO Award will be given to the student at the Hull High School
Scholarship/Award Ceremony on Friday, June 2, 2016. The award recipient will have until June 30th
of the following year to collect their award.
The award recipient will mail proof of attendance of their first
semester classes (i.e. copy of their school transcript or diploma) to the Hull
PTO President or his/her designee as listed in the award letter. If the award recipient fails to submit proof
of attendance by the date listed above, he/she will forfeit the award.
