Read-a-thon Winners



I am pleased to announce the results from last weeks Read-a-thon.  Memorial Middle school students read for a total of 78,614 minutes.  This is almost 20,000 minutes more than last year.  We also raised just over $700 which is $200 more than last year.  Thank you to all of our students, families, and those that donated for their support the PTO and the programs they provide to our students.  


And the winner is...


Ms. Sullivan's first period Grade 6 class read for the greatest amount of time with a total of 13,367 minutes read.  These students will get a free breakfast and will play a game of dodge ball with Officer Fahey, Mr. Kelley, and Mr. Hrivnak. 

The following students read the most at each grade level and will receive a free book at this week's scholastic book fair
         Grade 6:     Olivia Ball          4,625 minutes
         Grade 7:     Sarah Ashley       6,179 minutes
         Grade 8:     Shane Sutton       1,075 minutes

All students that submitted a completed reading log were entered in a drawing to win a Kindle Fire.

Alexia Hansen won a $50 iTunes gift card from the fund raising competition.  

All students that read for 1,000 or more minutes were entered in a drawing for Principal for the Day.  
       Winner of Principal for the Day:   Olivia Rys

We also had 59 students that read for over 500 minutes.  These students will participate in a dodge ball game on Friday.
