What's Old is New Again!!
A new sign graces the front lawn at Memorial Middle School... Well, it's not exactly a new sign! This sign was mounted over the front door of Memorial Middle School prior to the renovation 15 years ago. It was put in storage during the renovation and there it stayed. Recently Keith Connelly, a long time Hull Public School's Custodian, made the suggestion to mount the sign on the front lawn. Thank you, Keith, for your excellent suggestion and your continued service to the children of Hull!

The Grade 8 Dance Celebration is always a fantastic event. I am pleased to announce that the Dance Committee was able to raise enough money to cover the entire cost of the dance. In prior years, students had to pay $10 to $20 to attend the dance. This year, the dance is free for all Memorial Middle School students. Thank you to our Grade 8 Dance Committee for their tremendous efforts helping kids make wonderful memories!
Please remember that students must be in school on time for the day of the dance and that there are no dismissals prior to the dance.
The grade 8 faculty is also working to encourage appropriate
behavior on field trips. After April vacation, the grade 8 team will meet with
the grade 8 class to review the following discipline procedure. If a student is referred to the office for
behavioral problems three times, a member of the grade 8 team will contact the
parent. If your child is referred to the office a fourth time, the student will
lose one grade 8 end of year field trip/activity. We sincerely hope that all students will be
able to participate in all of the activities.
However, we must take the safety of the students very seriously and we cannot
risk misbehavior on the field trips/activity.
We must depend on and trust all students to behave in accordance with
the Handbook. Additionally, the
administration reserves the right to prevent students from attending field
trips/activities when warranted by inappropriate behavior.
One final reminder that Mike Devine, the High School Principal, will host a course selection information session for parents tonight at Hull High School in the Exhibition room at 7:00 pm. All current grade 8 parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. Students do not need to attend as they will receive the same information during school today!
I look forward to end-of-year activities and assisting with
the transition to high school. Should parents/guardians have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Tony Hrivnak
Principal
